Our starting point is the problem of unemployment in developing countries such as Kenya. The definition and measurement of unemployment in developing countries is beset with even greater difficulty than for developed countries. Figures of 25% or so are often motioned as being typical, and in some sense they correspond to some kind of reality both in the rural and urban areas of developing countries. however, without much further precision and indication of the purpose of the measurement such figures, have no very clear meaning.
