The second meeting of the Ministerial Follow-up Committee of the Conference of African Ministers responsible for Economic and Social Development and Planning; and welcome to the beautiful city of Abuja, capital of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I wish to seize this opportunity to express my deep appreciation to the Government and people of Nigeria for hosting this meeting, for their hospitality to the participants since their arrival and for the excellent arrangements it has made for this meeting.
