Statistical training programme for Africa (STPA) : STAP news.

Abstract

The eighth issue of STPA News contains in its first part information about the second post of Statistical Training Advisor. The second part gives information on training activities being undertaken by some non-STPA centers. The third part provides information on in-service statistical training activities being undertaken by some national statistical offices in the Africa region, information from six countries in the region is being highlighted. The fourth part contains information on short term statistical training opportunities available outside the region for practicing statisticians. The fifth part is devoted to news from the training centers participating in the STPA which are urged to send regularly their contributions to ECA secretariat. The sixth part contains information on the assistance to Portuguese-speaking African countries. The seventh part is devoted to a brief description of the status of the preparation of the draft guide syllabus for professional statistical training. The eighth part is devoted to EEC assistance to STPA under Lome II convention and the nin8th part includes miscellaneous news.
