Road and inland waterway projects

Abstract

This report was commissioned from T.P. O'Sullivan & Partners by the UN Economic Commission for Africa, in December 1980. Its object is to provide those attending the Donors Conference for road and waterway projects in the Central Africa sub-region with details of projects requested by participating countries within the context of Phase I (1980-1983) of the U.N. Transport and Communications Decade for Africa, and a general introduction to the Transport and Communications Decade and to the economic and developmental background against which the requests for funding are made. The bulk of the report is taken up with individual project descriptions culled from documents presented to the consultants and from interviews with officials of the countries concerned.
