The purpose of the mission was three-fold: a) To examine the progress so far made in the preparations for the population census, scheduled for December 1976 and in particular to review the reparations for nark in relation to: Cartography; Publicity;) Questionnaire, manuals and other ancillary documents; The setting-up of a field organization; Data processing plans. b) To examine the plans for made for the pilot census scheduled for December 1975 and to make recommendations for the conduct of this pilot census. c) To promote studies on the nomads of Mail as a necessary preliminary step for a trial enumeration in January 1976 (or at least before the end of April 1976),d) To make other general recommendations on administrative, technical and related matters which would help to make the census a success.
