Engaging in innovation depends not only on access to knowledge or technology from multinational companies and research institutions, but also on many other factors. There is therefore the need to find the right framework of interactions among the actors of the national innovation system, aimed at development and diffusion of new technology throughout the economy. The main objective of the workshop was to provide a platform for industry leaders, academics, scientists, researchers and public institutions to brainstorm and proffer suggestions on how to strengthen the Nigerian innovation system in its development process. The focus was also aimed at facilitating interaction and linkages among various actors of the National Innovation System and to develop negotiating skills to ensure that elements of technology and knowledge transfer are fully reflected in the technology transfer agreements.
