Access to Information and Communication Technologies is able to transform several jobs and to create new ones and to accelerate the socio-economic development of the continent, the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) has made it a priority sector of its programme of activities, Implementation of the infrastructure base as well as the lCT services, which are common to the whole continent, will be based on the African Information Society Initiative (AISl), which provides a global and comprehensive framework for Africa's entry into the information society, African lCT infrastructure is the lowest in the world and hence the continent needs serious investments to develop its infrastructure base so as to attain the goals set out by NEPAD.
