In the informal sector, women are engaged in a very wide range of activities. These activities range from agriculture, fishing, trade and cottage Industry. In the rural area, agriculture tops the list while trade dominates in the urban area. In the informal sector, it is very important that rural and urban activities Le complementary since all foodstuffs produced in the urban centres because of the high demand. In Congo, the few studies devoted to the informal sector such as those undertaken by International organizations on this issue, dealt, solely, with activities carried out by men in this sector. This project seeks to propose policies likely to strengthen the role of women in the area of production and management in the Informal sector of Congo.
