The Africa Regional Conference on the Integrated Approach to Rural Development in the Republic of the Congo. The conference highlighted that, the problems of agricultural development in the Republic Congo its main features must be borne in mind. the country Congo, which derives its name from the river forming boundary, 1,000km north of Brazzaville, stretches eastward to the sea front in the Pointe Noire region on either side of the railway plying between Brazzaville and the sea-port town of pointe Noire. Subsistence farming is the traditional type of farming practiced, and is carried on mainly by women. a center for fish culture is being set up not far from Brazzaville with UN assistance. Two agricultural resources in the Republic of the Congo deserve a special place because of the part they play in the expert market, These are cocoa and coffee Which have an annual production of 1,200 and 2,500 tons respectively. This brief statement on agricultural production in the Republic of the Congo would be incomplete without some mention of what is being done to co-ordinate and stimulate it.
