The treaty for East African co-operation came in to force on 1st December 1967 it establishes an East African community of the three partner state Kenya Tanzania and Uganda and deals with the whole of masters on which there is co-operation between the three countries the treaty commits the partner state to maintain a common marker between themselves and provides for measure to regulate the operation of the common marker to as toe achieve an equitable distribution of the benefits there are two important new regulatory measures for the common market in the treaty a system of transfer taxes and an East African Development Bank.
