This resolution adopted by the conference at its plenary session on 2 November 1965. Considering the vital role of industrial research to the industrial co-ordination and development of the sub-region. Notes with satisfaction and gratitude the financial assistance already given by the government of the United kingdom under the existing arrangements and the sympathetic consideration it has forced to give requests for further assistance in industrial research in the sub-region, under the proposed new arrangements. The recommendations made for the establishment of an autonomous Eastern African Council of industrial research vested with powers and duties to direct, take over existing institutes and establish new institutes proposed in the study.
