This study has been prepared pursuant to the decision of the Seventh session of the Conference of African Ministers of Trade held in February 1982 which inter alia, requested the ECA secretariat to (i) «continue to provide all necessary assistance, to African delegations participating in global meetings on Economic Co-operation among Developing Countries (ECDC); and (ii) conduct a study to identify those products of interest to African countries and. Which would be the subject of a Global System of Trade Preferences among Developing Countries (GSTP).
