Topographic and archeological work carried out in Tunisia for decades past has revealed the existence of a Roman cadastral system. A close inspection of aerial photos of some Tunisian regions reveal quite clearly traces of this Roman cadaster. So obviously, cadastral system is not something new in Tunisia. The cadastral operation, like the land registration operation, delimits the estate by fixing its physical and legal limits.
