The Executive Secretary left Addis Ababa for Lusaka on 22 October to attend the Sub-regional meeting on Economic Co-operation in East Africa. The Executive Secretary visited Niamey, Niger, from 8-13 December to inaugurate the headquarters building of the ECA Sub-regional office for West Africa on 12 December. Over and above its normal business the Technical Assistance Committee, at the request of the Executive Secretary, made recommendations on the utilization of resources in.1966 including regular staff, consultant, regional advisers, travel to meetings, and travel on official business. The Special Adviser to the, Executive Secretary was also Officer in Charge during the absence of the Executive Secretary and the Deputy Executive Secretary.
