The Training Programme run by my Ministry is divided in to two distinct sections: For Assistant Labor Officers and Assistant Labor Inspectors, For Social Workers In (a) at the beginning of the year all vacancies for Assistant Labour Officers and Assistant Labour Inspectors are filled by new candidates who possess the requisite qualifications. These new officers receive three weeks of intensive training in the basic knowledge of Social Welfare and Labour Organizations in Nigeria, In (b) also at the beginning of the year all newly newly-employed social workers are given one week's concentrated training in social work. The number is generally so few that others already in the service are invited to take part.
