The nineteenth session of the Regional Coordination Mechanism of United Nations agencies and organizations working in Africa in support of the African Union and its New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) program under the theme United Nations system support for the African Union in winning the fight against corruption: a sustainable path to Africa’s transformation. The agenda for the session was Adoption of the agenda and program of work ; Plenary presentation and discussion on United Nations system support for the African Union in winning the fight against corruption: a sustainable path to Africa’s transformation plenary discussion on the nexus between corruption and the implementation of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development and agenda 2063; Plenary discussion on curbing illicit financial flows for development; Plenary discussion on the threat of corruption to political stability, peace and security; Plenary discussion on strengthening the regional coordination mechanism for Africa and the United Nations development group in the context of the reforms of the African Union and the Secretary-General and of the United Nations-African Union frameworks; And plenary discussion on presentations and discussion on the progress of the mechanism and updates and adoption of the work plan: (a) African Union-United Nations progress report of the Mechanism; (b) Update on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063; (c) Update on the African Forum for Sustainable Development for follow-up to and review of the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063; (d) Adoption of the United Nations-African Union joint program for 2018-2019 for the mechanism.
