The purpose of the Mission to Morocco (13-24 May, 1998) was to share UNECA 's experiences on best practices in rural development and at the same time to learn about Morocco's unique approach to agricultural development and environmental rehabilitation under dryland conditions. UNECA’s SAERP experience was explained in a form of a seminar to small groups of policy level officials and professionals. All the participants considered the works of SAERP to be relevant for resolving the challenging problems of aridity in Morocco. During the course of the Missions, donor agencies and government institutions were visited and consultations undertaken with senior officials and professionals.
