When ECA/OAU presented the study, "commodity problems and policies consultation among producing countries", to the Fifth ECA/OAU Joint Meeting on Trade and Development, the delegates expressed regret that a number of commodities of export interest to African countries including cotton and banana were omitted. The meeting subsequently requested the ECA/OAU secretariats to study the problems of a selected list of commodities not dealt with in the above study and to make concrete proposals for concerted action by interested African producers.
