The paper presented at the International Development Conference whose theme was «Toward a National Consensus
on International Development». The paper addresses
the African development problems in terms of demography, drought and desertification, dependency, disequilibrium debt and destabilization. It is primarily to bring the situation of sub-Saharan Africa to the attention
of the Conference, and through it to the American public; the paper analyzed the evolution of the African economic crisis during the past decade or two and an extrapolation of the present trends by the above-mentioned
factors. The paper aim to provide solution to African
development problem how it must be attacked at the root. It demands collective approach at all levels to meet the expected objective of the continent. There is no doubt that the magnitude of the task is far beyond Africa’s capacity alone.
