Although we know that women are the majority of the poor and low skilled workers, there is very little known on the impact of trade liberalization on them, partly because of lack of gender-disaggregated data in trade statistics, and partly because of lack of gender awareness in economic analysis. This paper discusses the issue of trade liberalization and gender gap in general, then the issue of trade liberalization and women employment specifically since employment is a very important issue especially in developing countries for poverty reduction. Agriculture is extremely important for developing countries’ economy that is why the paper discusses the impact of trade liberalization on women farmers.
