The Expert Group Meeting on the preparation of a Methodology for the African Women's Report 2002 " Mainstreaming Gender in Governance and Decision – Making A Challenge for Africa" was held at the United Nations Conference Centre, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 23 to 25 November 2000 to define the scope of the studies, analyses and investigations to be carried out in drafting the Report; finalize the methodology; the outline as well as assess required resources for its production and dissemination. The meeting was attended by eight participants with expertise in different aspects of gender and /or Governance, representatives of some divisions of the Economic Commission for Africa namely, Development Management Division (DMD), Economic and Social Policy Division (ESPD) Development Information Division (DISD) and the African Centre for Women (ACW) which organised the meeting. The meeting was formally opened by Mrs. Josephine Ouedraogo, the director of the African Centre for Women.
