The Executive Secretary's report covered the evolution of GWP, previous and current state as well as GWP future course of action. He informed the SC of the increased expansion that has taken place within the network, especially highlighting, the increased number of members. Country and Regional Water Partnerships, and increased budgetary provision for this year compared to that of previous years. He noted that GWP must rise to the challenges of this expansion and forge ahead with the efforts for change and better outreach to the water sector and of greater stakeholder participation. He drew the meeting's attention to some regional developments especially the 1st South Asia Water Forum in Kathmandu which he said clearly signalled to GWP further opportunities to go down to the grassroots level, i.e. Area Water Partnerships.
