An integral part of the programme of work of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) is to provide advisory services to member States, Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and Intergovernmental Organizations (IGOs) on issues related, among other things, to macro-economic coordination and harmonization among countries of the respective Sub regional Development Centres (SRDCs). The ECA work programme also envisions the undertaking of advocacy and capacity building activities, through policy fora, seminars, training workshops and advisory missions in the areas of rationalization, harmonization and coordination of development programmes and strategies.
