Joint ECA/ITU programme for the development of telecommunications in Africa : proposed working programme

Abstract

At its 5th Session the ECA paid special attention to the need for improving telecommunication systems in Africa and requested the Executive Secretary to explore the matter and submit a report at the 6th Session. Concurrently the Organization of African Unity at its first Conference in May 1963 stressed the importance and urgency of creating intra regional telecommunication facilities in the interest of promoting African Unity.
