Broadcasting is expected to play a vital role in the process of
development in African countries. It provides a supplementary telecommunication facility, particularly for reaching peoples in rural areas where the telecommunication infrastructures are generally inadequate where they exist at all. Broadcasting is important not only as a means of disseminating information but also for educating, guiding and integrating populations in the country's social and economic development.
